Magnet Coil Winder (Abingdon, UK)

Magnet Coil Winder

Abingdon, Oxford

MR Solutions is looking to recruit a motivated Magnet Coil Winder to join the team.

Main Duties:

  • Winding coils for Superconductor Magnets to specifications defined by engineering.
  • Knowledge of the Manufacture of Gradient Coils would be desirable.
  • Following Engineering Drawings and detailed work instructions.
  • Prepping coil formers for winding including leak checking using a helium leak detector.
  • Coil preparation and coil winding to precise standards, to meet the correct turns per layer.
  • Performing and recording electrical checks.
  • To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner in compliance with the
  • Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Quality Procedures.

Skills/Qualifications

  • ONC or BTECH qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Experienced with winding coils for Superconductor Magnets.
  • Experience in the use of round and WIC superconducting wire.
  • Knowledge of working and handling high value superconducting wire.
  • Familiar with operating manual winding machines.
  • Advantageous to have further experience with resin impregnation, magnet assembly.

MRI/Multimodality Imaging Scientist (USA)

MR Solutions has an open position for an MRI/Multimodality Imaging Scientist. The successful candidate will be based in the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The Institute operates two MR Solutions preclinical imaging systems: a 3 T/7 T multifield simultaneous MRI/PET scanner and a 7 T MRI scanner. The imaging scientist will contribute to collaborations between the Institute and MR Solutions, with a focus on developing robust state-of-the-art radiological scientific applications and enhancing the hardware and software performance of our onsite imaging systems.

Job Title: MRI/Multimodality Imaging Scientist

Main Duties:

  • Assist and collaborate with local users of the MR Solutions scanners.
  • Develop and implement advanced robust imaging protocols and pulse sequences for the MR Solutions scanners.
  • Train users, on-site and remote, in operation of the MR Solutions scanners.
  • Coordinate and perform scanner demonstrations for MR Solutions clients.
  • Support the MR Solutions team by providing real-world experience, advice, and consultation.

Desired Skill and Proficiency:

  • Training and experience in MRI: preferably hands-on, in vivo, preclinical studies.
  • A higher degree in a physical science (e.g., physics, engineering, medical physics, chemistry).
  • Independent work ethic (re self-planning and organisational abilities).
  • Good communication skills (re written and oral English).
  • Experience and interest in writing and optimizing MRI pulse sequences.
  • Experience and interest in MRI data processing and analysis.
  • Familiarity with hardware optimization such as RF coil and amplifier tuning.
  • Familiarity with use of an oscilloscope and network analyzer.
  • Familiarity with one or more of C/C++, Python, and MatLab programming.
  • Familiarity/experience with PET imaging.

Sales account manager (USA)

Responsible for sales and prospection activities of MR Solutions pre-clinical imaging solutions : MRI, PET, SPECT and CT. The position will be addressing, but not limited to, the Academic, Pharmaceutical, Biosciences and Petrochemical research markets.

Candidates must have a background in biology ideally a bachelor or a master degree . They will be driven by exceeding annual sales targets, building strong relationships within the molecular imaging research community, encouraging and enabling innovation adoption, in a dynamic market.

  • Meet or exceed territory sales targets for all products and assigned business objectives within the territory.
  • Prospect strategically identified markets and territories, both remotely and by travelling.
  • Recognize market trends and gain competitive intelligence within territory
  • Generate sales leads and product interest at international exhibitions and tradeshows.
  • Follow up on leads from both a commercial and technical perspective, with the support of the applications and engineering teams.
  • Organize site visits, with support from applications team and Physicists when necessary, to qualify leads and ensure sales visibility nationwide.
  • Participate in reference site and onsite customer visits as needed as part of tender processes.
  • Conduct technical presentations of MR Solutions products, demonstrating the company technology in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
  • Create strong relationships with prospects throughout sales cycles

Job Requirements:

  • Preferably 2+ years of sales experience in the Life Science Capital Equipment market
  • Minimum B.S. in Life Sciences (biology, molecular biology preferred)
  • Highly effective time and self-management and prioritization skills
  • Team player with ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Willingness to spend up to 50% of time travelling away from your base office.
  • Fluent in English
